Those who attend will be able to meet staff, tour the campuses and gather information on the range of specialist courses available. Student ambassadors will also be on hand to talk personally about their experiences of college life and to offer guided tours.

The College offers courses in a wide range of subjects including Agriculture, Animal Management & Veterinary Nursing, Business, Childcare, Countryside, Equine Studies, Food, Horticulture & Floristry, Land-based Engineering, Outdoor Pursuits, Public Services, Sport and Skills for Life.

Adrian White, from Tintagel, is studying the Foundation Degree in Golf Operations Management at Stoke Climsland, he said: “The best thing about my experience at college is the opportunity to play many different courses around the UK and Europe. The facilities here are very good, especially the use of flight scope and dartfish in the swing studio, which has aided my game greatly.”

Rosewarne Floristry Diploma student Michelle Coombe, from Helston, said: “I love this course; its hard work but very rewarding and enjoyable, I’ve liked having the opportunity to learn new and interesting skills.”

Duchy College offers full and part-time courses, apprenticeships and university courses, awarded by Plymouth University, from Foundation Degrees to Research Masters.

Students looking to start a degree course in 2012 will have the opportunity to discuss tuition fees and their eligibility for financial aid through the College or government initiatives.

Andrew Counsell, Head of Duchy College, said: “Open Events provide an excellent opportunity to find out more about college life, for those who are leaving school this year and haven’t decided what to do next it’s a great chance to explore the options and gather all the information they need.”
