After the last successful and well attended renewable energy event 'Get switched on', Cornwall College Business is hosting another free event next month for people working in the construction industry wanting to know more about the renewable energy sector.

The two-hour event on March 7th (8.30am) will be held in Cornwall College St Austell’s Skill’s Centre. The event is designed to give builders, plumbers and electricians access to the knowledge and qualifications they need to install solar panels and other renewable technologies.
Despite recent reductions of the feed-in tariffs, Cornwall College Business will be highlighting the need for skills in installing renewable energy technologies, due to new Government initiatives such as the ‘Green Deal’ which will be rolled out later on in the year.

“It makes sense for construction businesses in Cornwall to take advantage of this offer, especially whilst there is the funding available,” said Justin Olosundé from Cornwall College. “Our specialist facilities across the different sites enable tradespeople to get up close to the renewable technologies to see how they work and learn how to install them.”

Delegates who attend the event will be offered a contribution of up to £500 to help pay for the cost of their training, subject to funding eligibility.
