Five students from catering courses at St Austell College, their friends, family and special guests were recently treated to a delicious celebratory lunch at Cloisters, the college's silver service restaurant.

James Carter, 17 from St Stephen, Melonie Shord, 16 from Newquay, Roxanne Payne, 18 from Bugle, Ed Roberts, 16 from St Austell and Angela Godfrey, a mature student from Callington all received awards as "Student of the Year" in their course category.

Head of Hospitality and Catering, Jim Pickup who organised the event said, "We wanted to celebrate the outstanding achievements of students who have really outdone themselves, but it wasn't easy choosing just five winners as they've all worked really hard"

It was an appropriate way to celebrate and the students were really pleased not to be doing the cooking for a change!
