Staff from Cornwall College Saltash will be taking part in this year's Plymouth Half Marathon on Sunday wearing an unusual mix of a flamingo outfit and tutus to raise money for Chicks, the charity that helps to provide free respite breaks for disadvantaged children.

With money already coming in from fundraising in and around the College the group have set a combined target of raising £1,400. So far they are over half way there with more due in the next few weeks.

With everyone training hard over the last few months and despite some picking up a few injuries along the way they are all very confident of finishing.

Kerry Jackson, Programme Manager for Business at Saltash, helped to organise the fundraising. She said: “It will be hard work but a lot of fun on Sunday. We are all looking forward to the race and raising as much as possible. The support so far has been great.”

Dave Linnell, Principal of Cornwall College added: “Good luck to the group from Saltash for this Sunday’s Plymouth Half Marathon. They have done really well to have raised so much already and I’m sure they will hit their target.”
