The Atlantic Centre opens its doors
The Atlantic Centre was officially opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony on 23rd March by Andrew Holland, Director and General Manager, Pall Manufacturing UK Ltd.
The Atlantic Centre is a brand new building constructed as part of a collaborative venture for the Atlantic Consortium. The Atlantic Consortium is a partnership between three secondary schools - Newquay Tretherras, Treviglas Community College and Wadebridge School along with their FE partner Cornwall College.
The centre is primarily used for students aged 14-16, who are studying a wide range of courses including business enterprise, public services, animal care and health and social care.
The project has also been a very successful partnership with Architects Atkins and Midas Construction who have worked hard to provide the students with a bright and modern environment.
Dave Linnell, Principal of Cornwall College said: “We are extremely pleased with how well the Atlantic Centre has been received by the students and visitors, the Centre has also become a focus for work with employers and has hosted a number of projects with local employers and trainers.”
The partnership is continuing to expand its work in vocational skills and is working with local employers and the community to ensure that students are given a wide range of opportunities to explore the routes that they can take in the future.
