Free Family Fun at College Open Day
DUCHY College Rosewarne will be throwing open its doors to the public and potential students this month for its annual fun Open Day on Saturday 23rd June.
The College is hoping to expand on last year’s very busy event and promises to offer an entertaining free day out for all the family. Those who attend the Open Day, which runs from 11am until 3pm on Saturday 23rd June, will be able to meet staff, students and the resident animals, tour the beautiful campus, have a go at a whole range of activities and explore the specialist facilities.
Highlights include animal handling, dance performances and workshops with local group – RedYOUth, digger challenges, farm tours, a fun dog show, plant pest and diseases advice, sausage making demonstrations, a hog roast, tractor rides, beekeeping, an Eden Project Carbon Exhibit, plant and craft sales and much more!
Local exhibitors will also be taking part including Paradise Park, Gwel-an-Mor, the Retired Greyhound Trust, Canine Crusaders, Shire Horse & Carriage Museum, the Rare Breeds Survival Trust and Flying Start Nursery.
Andrew Counsell, Head of Duchy College, said: “We want to build on the success of last year’s Open Day and a lot of planning and hard work has gone in to making this one busier than ever. Rosewarne is a beautiful campus and this is the perfect opportunity for the public to come in, explore the College and find out more about what we offer.”
Duchy College Rosewarne offers full and part-time courses in Agriculture, Animal Management & Veterinary Nursing, Conservation, Countryside & the Environment, Floristry, Horticulture, Land-based Engineering & Plant Operations and Skills for Life. Anyone looking for careers advice will be able to chat to lecturers and students at the Open Day.
