College Florist to Create Posy for Show Special Guest
DUCHY College Rosewarne's Floristry Course Manager is overjoyed this week after being asked to create a posy for a special VIP at this year's Royal Cornwall Show.
Monica Beaumont, who teaches at the College as well as running her own floristry business, got a call from the Royal Cornwall Agriculture Association (RCAA) last week but had to keep her secret under wraps! It has since been revealed that Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cornwall will visit the Royal Cornwall Show on the opening day – Thursday 7th June.
Monica explained: “I was asked if I would make the posy for a VIP and not to say anything to anyone but I didn’t actually know who it was for. I’m delighted to be making a posy for Her Royal Highness, it’s a great honour. I will make sure that it has red, white and blue flowers to tie in with the jubilee celebrations.”
Andrew Counsell, Head of Duchy College, said: “We are so pleased that the RCAA considered us to create the posy. It’s a real honour for Monica and the College. We’re really looking forward to this year’s show and have a new look and feel for our stand which we hope people will enjoy visiting.”
