Pupils meet some unusual creatures!
LOCAL school children came face-to-face with a selection of Duchy College Rosewarne's more unusual animals this week when representatives from the College visited their school.
Reception class pupils from Lanner Primary School welcomed Animal Care Lecturer Tracey Benton and Schools Partnership Manager Carole Gravett as they brought along millipedes, hissing cockroaches, Borneo thorny stick insects, African land snails and a corn snake. After a short talk about the animals, Tracey and Carole demonstrated how to handle them and the school children had the opportunity to get involved.
Andrew Counsell, Head of Duchy College, said: “We have a fantastic range of animals here at the College, we’re proud of our strong relationships with local schools and are always happy to visit schools and share our expertise.”
