Course Studied: Introduction to Boatbuilding NVQ1
I heard about the course at Falmouth Marine School when they visited my school, Richard Lander. I've always liked woodwork and wanted to do something more than carpentry. After two weeks work experience at Cockwells boatyard in Falmouth I knew that boatbuilding, which is the hardest form of carpentry, was the perfect choice. The course has been really good. We each have a book of projects which we work through, but we can go at our own pace so it is quite relaxed.
I really love it as it is so practical. I have two whole days a week in the workshop now as opposed to just two hours at school!
