Do you want to develop skills to understand the operation, design and function of a modern networked computer system and gain a recognised CISCO certificate?
What will I get out of it?
You will develop skills to specify, design and construct computer-based communication systems. You will gain a clear understanding of the concepts and principles associated with communications technology, and have an ability to evaluate and interpret these. On successful completion of this course you will be awarded a ‘CISCO CCNA1 Network fundamentals’ certificate.

This course is for anyone who wishes to develop a basic knowledge and understanding of networked computer systems.
Entry requirements
No prior knowledge is required - an interview in some cases may be requested. Please enquire if you are at all unsure as to your suitability for this course.

During this course, you will cover:
• Elements of a simple computer system
• Network protocols
• Principles of Open Systems Interconnection (OSI), Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and Internet Protocol (IP) layers
• Setting up simple networks
• Network topologies (geometric properties)
• Addressing schemes for networked devices
